Attached is a blog that tells the story of the construction of the above pictured balloon by a first time builder, Kevin Herschman. The balloon envelope was built for less than $2,000 in materials and about 200 hours of work over 22 days. The entire system cost less than $5,000 including basket, burners, trailer, inflation fan, etc. (These dollar costs are a bit lower than average as Kevin was a very agressive shopper.) The labor required is about average. The blog can be viewed by clicking
